Calling all over 55’s, you can book your vaccination appointment now

The Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands has just made an official request for people residing in Gran Canaria and Tenerife over 55 years of age who have not received their vaccination appointment yet, to call 012 to request it as soon as possible.

They have confirmed that they have completed gathering the data for this age group and have also completed the appointments for the over 60’s, so now they are moving full steam ahead with the 50-59 year olds, which is Group 9 on the Governments vaccination plan.

They will continue to send out SMS messages with appointment dates from health centres and vaccination centres, but to speed up the process and get as many people booked in as quickly as possible, they have opened lines for over 55’s to call either:

922 470 012 if in Tenerife.

The aim of the SCS is to vaccinate the most vulnerable groups as soon as possible, as stated in the national Vaccination Strategy against Covid-19. To do this, citation systems have been combined that promote coverage of priority groups, since the arrival of vaccines regularly, together with the opening of massive vaccination centres allow to intensify the inoculation of target groups and progress in the inoculation in this age group. Progressively, the lines of citation will be opened for other age groups.
