Lanzarote now in Level 4 – here are all the restrictions

2021/01/23 08:28:14 Written by Canarian Weekly Lanzarote

Lanzarote has now officially started Level 4 restrictions, the highest that the regional Government can apply without requesting extra measures from the Ministry of Health in Madrid. Most are focused around stopping people meeting and using interior spaces as these are proven to be the ‘hotspots’ for transmission of the coronavirus.

At alert Level 4, the restriction on people meeting both indoors or outdoors in public, and in private, is limited to co-habitants, i.e. those living together at the same address, except on terraces of bars and restaurants, respecting the maximum number of four people per table. The maximum number of people that don’t live together that can meet, again only on terraces of bars and restaurants, is 2.

Although curfew remains at 10pm, all non-essential activities and commercial establishments must be closed to the public by 6pm, so only essential shops (eg supermarkets), medical centres, education centres, essential public services, vets, petrol stations, catering establishments inside hotels for guests only, and hospitality for delivery/collection service.

Lanzarote now has a perimeter closure meaning that the restriction of entry and exit of people is for justified reasons contemplated in article 6 of Royal Decree-Law 926/2020, of October 25.

The night time curfew continues as before between 10pm and 6am every day. There are exemptions listed in article 5 of Decree-Law 926/2020, of October 25, which are the same essential services as above. Although curfew is at 10pm, people need a justifiable reason to be out after 6pm, or they are expected to be at home.

GENERAL MEASURES FOR THE WORKPLACE:
Preferably people will work remotely from home wherever possible. Only essential business meetings will be allowed, always guaranteeing the use of a mask, interpersonal distance and the capacity of 33% in work spaces.

SPECIFIC MEASURES FOR BARS, RESTAURANTS AND CAFES:
At alert Level 4, it will not be possible to exceed 50% of the authorized capacity of outdoor terraces, as it forbidden to use indoor areas. The maximum occupancy per table will be four people and consumption at the bar is prohibited. The complete closure of the establishment to the public must be before 6pm. Takeaway service at the premises and home delivery can be provided until 10pm.

PUBLIC SPACES, SHOPS AND COMMERCIAL CENTRES:
The capacity of shops and retail stores may not exceed 25%. In the case of shopping centres and parks, the capacity of the common areas will be limited to 25% of the capacity.
Visits to museums, exhibition halls, monuments and other cultural facilities at alert level 4 will take place without exceeding 25% of the authorized capacity for all rooms and spaces, with a maximum number of 4 people in group activities.

PHYSICAL EXERCISE AND SPORTS:
In the open air, only individual sports are allowed and those in which the interpersonal safety distance of 2 metres can be maintained permanently. Team sports or those sports and exercises in which that distance cannot be guaranteed, may not be practiced. The practice of physical and sports activity in the interior areas of sports facilities and gyms is prohibited.

SPORTS EVENTS:
Professional events may be held and, in the case of non-professionals, only those in which athletes or players can maintain a safety distance of two metres permanently. Public attendance not allowed, except in the case of accompanying minors.

BEACHES AND NATURAL POOLS:
Capacity will be 50% on beaches and 33% in natural pools. On beaches, at this alert level, only individual sports are allowed, as long as the safety distance of 2 metres with other people can be guaranteed permanently.
Children's, youth camps and camp sites will be prohibited under alert level 4.

TOUR GUIDE ACTIVITY:
These activities will be carried out in groups with a maximum of 4 people, without exceeding the total number of 12 people. In the case of outdoor activities in which interpersonal safety distance between the different groups can be permanently guaranteed, a maximum of 20 people is allowed.

GAMING AND BETTING PREMISES:
At alert level 4, recreational gaming and betting venues will be closed.

CEREMONIES AND OTHER RELIGIOUS OR CIVIL CELEBRATIONS:
You may not exceed 50% of the capacity outdoors, nor 25% of the authorized capacity in indoor areas, with a maximum of 10 people.

STREET MARKETS:
33% of the capacity established by each city council for outdoor markets and 25% for those held in closed spaces cannot be exceeded. Sporadic or extraordinary markets may only be held subject to authorization.

External visits in hospitals are suspended, except in the case of minors, pregnant women, accompanying terminal patients and those other clinical situations that are considered necessary at the discretion of the physician. In nursing homes, residents' outings and external visits are suspended, except in the case of accompanying terminal patients and those other situations that are considered necessary at the discretion of the centre’s management for health reasons.
