Two people are under investigation for suspected drug dealing at a nighttime venue in Corralejo, Fuerteventura, after police allegedly found eight prepared doses of cocaine.
Officers carried out an inspection during celebrations in the town after receiving information that cocaine may have been sold inside the venue. One of the suspects was already known to police from a separate case and had a previous police record.
During the operation, officers reportedly saw two people carrying out what appeared to be a drug transaction and intervened.
The music was temporarily stopped, and the lights were switched on to allow officers to identify and check those inside. Police said one suspect then threw a small plastic container onto the floor.
The container allegedly held eight individual doses of cocaine weighing a total of 5.61 grams. Officers also found cash in small denominations and two mobile phones.
Police believe the way the drugs were packaged, together with the other evidence seized, indicated that they were intended for sale. Both suspects are now being investigated for an alleged drug trafficking offence.
