36-year-old man in critical condition after falling from balcony in Gran Canaria

A 36-year-old man is in a critical condition after falling from a balcony onto a street in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in the early hours of this morning (Monday).

The incident happened just after 12.00am in Calle Carmelo González Rodríguez. The man reportedly fell approximately five metres in what was described as an accidental fall.

The Canary Islands’ 112 emergency service sent two ambulances, including one equipped for advanced medical care, along with Local and National Police officers.

Paramedics treated the man for multiple serious injuries and stabilised him on the street before taking him urgently to Hospital Universitario Insular de Gran Canaria, where he was admitted in a critical condition.

Police cordoned off the area to allow emergency crews to work. Officers are investigating the exact circumstances of the fall.
