The dense haze that has covered the Canary Islands for the last 24 hours is expected to ease from today, Wednesday, bringing improved visibility and slightly cooler conditions, according to latest forecasts from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).
All islands remain under a yellow weather warning, although conditions are forecast to stabilise as the day progresses. Winds will be light to moderate, occasionally strengthening in exposed areas, particularly in mid-altitude zones and higher ground on Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
At sea, northeasterly to easterly winds of force 4 to 5 are expected, occasionally reaching force 6. Moderate to rough seas are forecast, along with a northerly swell of between two and three metres.
Island-by-Island Forecast for Wednesday 1st April 2026:

Night-time temperatures will rise slightly to moderately, particularly in northern and western midlands. Daytime temperatures will increase slightly. Coastal areas will see moderate easterly or northeasterly winds. Inland and higher areas will experience southeasterly winds shifting northeasterly later in the day, with occasional strong gusts, especially in the southeast and northern coastal areas. Variable light winds are expected on the highest peaks.
General temperature range: Low of 16°C and a high of 23°C.

Generally clear with some high cloud early on. The haze, mainly affecting mid-level and high areas, will gradually ease later in the afternoon. Minimum temperatures will rise slightly, more noticeably inland. Daytime temperatures will remain steady or increase slightly. Northeasterly winds along the coast, shifting easterly at midday. Inland and higher areas will see moderate southeasterly winds, turning northeasterly by evening, with occasional strong gusts in exposed locations.
