Two men have been arrested in Puerto del Carmen after police allegedly caught them involved in drug-related activity near the resort’s nightlife areas. The arrests were made during overnight patrols carried out by the local police in Tías.
According to local authorities, the first operation began after officers observed behaviour linked to suspected drug dealing involving the manager of a hospitality business in Puerto del Carmen. Police then stepped up surveillance and monitoring in the area.
In a separate incident, officers on patrol spotted a man riding an electric scooter, allegedly exchanging items with a tourist. Police said both of them behaved suspiciously, leading officers to stop and identify them before carrying out further action.
Both incidents took place close to busy leisure and nightlife areas in the resort. Officers seized cash in small denominations, various quantities and types of suspected drugs, and several personal items during the operations.
The two suspects were taken to the Guardia Civil station in Puerto del Carmen, where the case files and seized items were handed over to judicial authorities.
Local Police say the arrests form part of ongoing operations aimed at improving safety and preventing illegal activity in popular areas.
