The Club Med 2, recognised as the largest sailing ship in the world, will call at the Canary Islands this autumn as part of one of its luxury voyages linking the Iberian Peninsula with North Africa.

The stopover forms part of the route “From Málaga to the Canary Islands”, which runs from 25th October to 1st November, ending in the province of Las Palmas.

During its voyage, the five-masted ship will visit the ports of Ceuta, Cádiz, Tangier, Safi, Agadir, and Arrecife (Lanzarote), marking the vessel’s return to Spanish waters after several years away from these routes.

A Five-Masted Giant of the Seas

Measuring 187 metres in length and carrying 2,500 square metres of sails, the Club Med 2 is a unique hybrid of luxury cruising and traditional sailing. It combines wind power with diesel-electric propulsion, offering a smooth and sustainable navigation experience.

The ship has 164 cabins accommodating up to 328 passengers, served by a crew of 338. Belonging to Club Med’s Exclusive Collection, it has been completely refurbished to reflect the elegance of the French Riviera, blending contemporary design with classic nautical touches.

Luxury and Wellness on Board

Guests can indulge in two gourmet restaurants serving seasonal fine dining menus, and unwind in a Sothys spa, offering premium beauty and wellness treatments.

The vessel also features a marina platform at the stern, giving direct access to the sea for water sports such as wakeboarding, windsurfing, paddleboarding, and snorkelling. Spread over six decks, the Club Med 2 includes a solarium, outdoor pool, and several panoramic bars — all designed for relaxation with ocean views.

Two Special Voyages for Club Med’s 75th Anniversary

The return of Club Med 2 to Spanish waters coincides with Club Med’s 75th anniversary. Founded in 1950 in Mallorca, the brand pioneered the modern all-inclusive resort concept.

To celebrate, the ship is operating two special itineraries this October. The first, “From Catalonia to Andalusia” (18th–25th October), departs from Barcelona, visiting Palma de Mallorca, Valencia, Alicante, Cartagena, Puerto Banús/Marbella, Gibraltar, and Málaga.

The second, “From Málaga to the Canary Islands” (25th October–1st November), will sail the eastern Atlantic, ending its European season in Lanzarote before crossing the ocean to the Caribbean, its traditional winter destination.
