The arrival of trade winds clears the haze but lowers temperatures

The Saharan haze, which has been hovering over the Canary Islands for almost a week now, will finally clear today as the trade winds enter the archipelago from the northeast. They will, however, cause a drop in temperatures over the weekend, according to the forecasts of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

In places, temperatures reached 30°C yesterday which are high for the time of year, but they will return to normal today of around 25 degrees due to winds, which will also blow away the haze, clean the skies, and bring a ‘freshness’ to the islands.
