A Ryanair flight that departed from Lanzarote Airport yesterday afternoon (Sunday) heading to Brussels was forced to turn back due to a technical problem on board. The crew promptly informed air traffic controllers about the issue, initiating a series of emergency protocols.
Upon detecting the problem, the flight crew contacted Moroccan air traffic control to request priority for an immediate return. The coordination between the airline crew and air traffic controllers ensured a swift and efficient response to the situation.
Moroccan air traffic controllers responded promptly to the request, as indicated by a message from the @controladores profile on X (formerly known as Twitter): “We are positioning you for a direct approach and landing on runway 03. The approach of the rest of the traffic is being extended until we verify that you have cleared the runway without incident.”
Thanks to the quick actions of both the crew and air traffic controllers, the plane was able to return safely to Lanzarote. All passengers and crew members were unharmed, and the incident was handled without further complications. The technical issue is currently under investigation to prevent future occurrences.
