Rain, cooler temperatures, and north winds forecast in the Canaries this Friday

The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) are forecasting cloudy skies and showers in the northern mountainous regions of the Canary Islands today, Friday, with isolated showers in the south. Maximum temperatures will experience a slight decrease, while minimum temperatures will rise in the eastern province, with moderate north winds.

As for the sea conditions, AEMET predicts west and northwest winds of force 3 to 5, and southwest winds of force 3 or 4, changing to north-northwest winds of force 5 to 6 tonight. Sea conditions will range from slight to rough with strong swell. There will be a northwest swell with waves measuring 1 to 2 metres in height.

LANZAROTE:

Partly cloudy skies with occasional cloudy intervals, more concentrated in the northwest during the early morning. Maximum temperatures will experience a slight to moderate decrease, with minimum temperatures showing little change. Moderate northwest winds will shift to the northeast this afternoon.
Temperatures: highs of 23°C and lows of 16°C.

FUERTEVENTURA:

Similar to Lanzatote with partly cloudy skies and occasional cloudy intervals, more concentrated in the northwest during the early morning. Maximum temperatures will experience a slight to moderate decrease, and minimum temperatures will remain unchanged or slightly rise. Moderate northwest winds will shift to the northeast in the afternoon.
Temperatures: highs of 23°C and lows of 17°C.

GRAN CANARIA:

In the north, cloudy skies with occasional showers, clearing on the coasts from noon onwards. In the rest of the island, partly cloudy skies with occasional cloudy intervals. Maximum temperatures will decrease slightly in the northern half of the island, with few changes in the rest. Moderate northwest winds will turn northeast during the central hours of the day. Strong and occasionally very strong gusts are not ruled out in the west and east coasts during the first half of the day.
Temperatures: highs of 23°C and lows of 18°C.

TENERIFE:

In the north, cloudy skies with possible weak and occasional rains, potentially becoming moderate during the morning. In the rest of the island, partly cloudy intervals, becoming cloudy this afternoon in the south with some scattered showers. Maximum temperatures will experience a slight decrease, more pronounced in the northern slope, with few changes in the rest. Moderate northwest winds will shift to the northeast during the central hours. Strong and occasionally very strong gusts are not ruled out in high areas during the first half of the day, as well as in the extreme northwest. In the summits, strong southwest winds with very strong gusts, which will calm down during the afternoon.
Temperatures: highs of 21°C and lows of 18°C.
