Rain and Calima forecast in the Canary Islands this Sunday

The weather in the Canary Islands today, Sunday, is expected to be partly cloudy with a prevalence of high-altitude clouds. There will be intervals of low clouds to the west and south of the westernmost islands with a possibility of scattered and occasional light showers in La Palma, according to the forecast from the Spanish Met Office.

The forecast shows the presence of calima in the eastern islands of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, while temperatures are expected to remain relatively unchanged. Winds will be light to moderate from the south, and in the central peaks of Tenerife, it will be moderate to strong from the southwest.

At sea, there will be force 3 or 4 winds, locally reaching 5 on the east and northwest coasts. The sea will be moderate or locally rough. The swell from the west or northwest will be 1 to 2 metres on the north coast and extreme south.

Forecast for this Sunday by Islands:

LANZAROTE:

Partly cloudy with intervals of high-altitude clouds. Probability of calima, mainly at the beginning and towards the end of the day. Temperatures with few changes. Wind from the south, with intervals of strong winds in the west and north during the first half of the day. It will decrease to light winds towards the end of the day.
Temperatures: High of 24°C and low of 16°C.

FUERTEVENTURA:

Similar to Lanzarote. Partly cloudy with intervals of high-altitude clouds. Probability of calima, mainly at the beginning and towards the end of the day. Temperatures with few changes. Wind from the south with intervals of strong winds in the west and north during the central hours of the day. It will decrease to light winds towards the end of the day.
Temperatures: High of 25°C and low of 16°C.

GRAN CANARIA:

Partly cloudy with a prevalence of high-altitude clouds and a probability of calima. Temperatures with few changes, except for slight decreases in maximum temperatures in the north. Wind from the south will be light on coasts and mid-altitude areas, but stronger in the peaks.
Temperatures: High of 23°C and low of 18°C.

TENERIFE:

Partly cloudy overall with a prevalence of high-altitude clouds. Intervals of low clouds on the west, south, and east coasts. Temperatures unchanged or slightly decreasing. Light south winds, with intervals of moderate winds on the east side. In the central peaks, the wind will be moderate to strong from the southwest.
Temperatures: High of 24°C and low of 17°C.
