Light haze and mostly clear skies across the Canaries this Sunday
The Canary Islands will have mostly clear skies today, Sunday, with only some patches of medium and high cloud in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, and a light calima lingering across the Archipelago.
According to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), the haze will be more noticeable in mid-altitude areas and should gradually clear from east to west throughout the day. Sunset time tonight is at 6:10pm.
Temperatures will remain steady, although those heading up to the high peaks of Tenerife or La Palma should be aware of the chance of light frost at higher elevations. In general, conditions will feel mild and comfortable across the islands.
Winds will blow gently from the east to southeast, becoming slightly stronger in the eastern province of Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura, particularly around midday.
At sea, easterly winds will pick up later, especially along the south and occasionally the northwest coasts, where waves will rise from a slight swell to moderate seas. A northwest swell of 2 to 3 metres will continue to affect open waters.

TENERIFE
A bright day with a slight haze, more noticeable in mid-altitude zones. Temperatures steady with a risk of light frost at the highest points of the central peaks. Southeasterly winds strengthening along southern coasts during the central hours of the day.
Expected temperatures: Low of 18°C and a high of 24°C.
GRAN CANARIA
Some high cloud early on, clearing to mostly sunny skies later. Light calima easing as the day progresses. Gentle southeasterly winds increasing on northeast and southwest coasts at midday.
Expected temperatures: Low of 18°C and a high of 23°C.
LANZAROTE
Mostly thin cloud at high levels, with little change in temperature. Light southeasterly winds, stronger inland and on the western side during peak daylight hours.
Expected temperatures: Low of 16°C and a high of 22°C.
FUERTEVENTURA
Similar conditions with intervals of high cloud and stable temperatures. Light southeasterly breeze throughout.
Expected temperatures: Low of 17°C and a high of 22°C.
