Supermarket chain Lidl has withdrawn a batch of smoked salmon from its stores in the Canary Islands after detecting possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.
The affected product is Deluxe Norwegian Smoked Salmon with Pistachio, manufactured by Compagnia del Mare, with a use-by date of 18th April 2026.
The recall was announced on Lidl’s website through a statement issued by the manufacturer. According to the notice, the potential bacterial contamination was identified during routine quality control checks.
Lidl confirmed that the affected units were sold exclusively in its Canary Islands stores and have now been removed from sale.
Customers who have purchased the product with the specified expiry date are strongly advised not to consume it. The item can be returned to any Lidl store, where customers will receive a full refund, even without presenting a receipt.

The company has stressed that no other Lidl products are affected by this alert, and Compagnia del Mare has apologised to customers for any inconvenience caused.
Listeria infection can cause symptoms such as fever, sickness and diarrhoea, and may pose a greater risk to pregnant women, older people and those with weakened immune systems. Anyone who has consumed the product and feels unwell is advised to seek medical advice.
