An EasyJet flight from Tenerife South Airport to Liverpool was forced to turn back just 30 minutes after take-off yesterday (Tuesday) after a fight involving around 10 passengers broke out on board.

Flight number EZY3352 returned safely to Tenerife South, where the police were waiting to meet the flight after the captain requested urgent assistance.

According to Air Traffic Controllers on X, the captain made the decision to return because the disturbance posed a risk to the safety of the flight and everyone on board.

Air traffic control prioritised the aircraft's return, coordinating closely with ground crew at Tenerife South Airport to ensure police were in position when it landed.

The plane landed safely on Runway 07 and taxied clear of the runway without further incident.

While details of those involved have not yet been released, officers boarded the plane to deal with those responsible for the fight.

Growing problem of disruptive passengers

The incident is the latest in a series of cases involving disruptive passengers on flights, not only to and from the Canary Islands.

Airlines and aviation authorities continue to warn that aggressive or disruptive behaviour can have serious consequences, including arrests, heavy fines and potential criminal prosecution, particularly when the safety of an aircraft is put at risk.
