Police have arrested a man at Tenerife South Airport on suspicion of attempted murder after he arrived on a flight from Liverpool. He had allegedly been on the run since a serious stabbing in Adeje in December 2025.

The attack reportedly took place at a complex in the municipality, where the suspect is accused of assaulting another person with a large knife.

The victim suffered wounds to vital areas, including the neck. Police said the intervention of a witness helped save the victim’s life.

The alleged attacker fled after the incident and had been wanted by police while the investigation remained open.

Authorities said the man was also wanted in connection with several other outstanding cases. These include alleged dangerous driving, assaulting police officers and causing injury.
