Katia Gutiérrez crowned Queen of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival 2024!
In a dazzling spectacle that left the audience of around 5,000 people in awe, Katia Gutiérrez Thime has been officially crowned the Carnival Queen in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The mesmerizing outfit, featuring the theme "The Treasure of Midas," was brought to life through the creative genius of Masbe Creaciones sponsored by Dormitorum.
The city was buzzing with excitement as the announcement was made by the City Council, revealing this year's carnival queen winner. Andrea Franco, Suadu Sene Faye, Leysi Uz, and Lola Dávila earned their titles as the first, second, third, and fourth ladies of honour, respectively.
The first lady, representing Vega de San Mateo, graced the stage in a stunning creation by Juan Carlos Armas titled 'The Pearl.' Meanwhile, the second lady, adorned in the design 'Nubia' by Kilian Betancor, garnered applause for the support of the esteemed El Centro de Guayadeque Restaurant.
Leysi, the third lady, made a striking impression as she paraded in a creation by Sedomir Rodríguez de la Sierra titled 'In My Skin,' representing Supermercados Gordillo. Lastly, the fourth lady, Lola, captivated the audience with 'Believe in Myself,' a masterpiece by Alexis Santana Rodríguez for Losam Impermeabilizaciones.
The carnival gala themed this year as “Around The World” started at 9:30pm, led by the charismatic host Horacio Colomé. He transported the packed Belén María venue through the vibrant and thrilling festivities of Brazil, Italy, Colombia, and the two capitals of the Canary Island provinces.
The grand opening was a spectacular collaboration with the queens of these renowned carnivals: Beatrice Raffael, Adriana Peña, Valeria Charris, Juliana Manhäes, and Lola Ortiz. Las Palmas truly witnessed a carnival extravaganza like never before!
