In the midst of ongoing debates about the tourism model in the Canary Islands, and with large-scale hotel projects under consideration by both public and judicial administrations, the tourism sector continues with its appeal to visitors. Airlines, accommodations, and leisure companies are striving to attract travellers for the summer season, hoping to maintain their numbers from previous years.
An essential ally in this endeavour these days, is feedback from past users who contribute to the promotion of the Islands through specialised websites. The leading site in this sector, TripAdvisor, publishes the Travellers' Choice awards annually, which highlight the world's best establishments based on user reviews.
Recently, TripAdvisor released its list of award-winning tourist accommodations, with several hotels from the Canary Islands earning accolades. Notably, two hotels from Tenerife and another from Lanzarote have been ranked among the best in Europe in the luxury and all-inclusive categories.
The Travellers' Choice awards feature nine categories for accommodation, with the Canary Islands are represented in four of them, though with varying levels of success. None of the awarded hotels made it to the global top rankings, and only two are among the best in Europe. The rest are among the top in Spain.
Among the most highly rated hotels in Spain are three establishments from the Archipelago. Impressively, one of these hotels is ranked third, just behind hotels in Andalusia and Mallorca.

Additionally, the Iberostar Playa Gaviotas Park and Iberostar Playa Gaviotas, both in Fuerteventura, rank 7th and 9th in Spain, respectively, with Hotel Landmar Playa La Arena in Tenerife rounding out the top ten.
In the small and boutique category, only two establishments from the Canary Islands are ranked among Spain's best, with one leading the national list. Lani's Suites De Luxe in Lanzarote, which receives perfect scores from its users, is praised for its prime location with direct beach and sea access, and excellent public areas. This hotel also ranks 24th among the best in Europe. The other hotel in this category is Veintiuno in Gran Canaria, which ranks 16th in Spain.
