Covid update: The Canaries start February with 1,545 new cases and 9 deaths

The first data of February from the Ministry of Health, reports of 1,545 new cases of Covid in the Canary Islands today of which, 583 are in Gran Canaria, 538 are in Tenerife, 189 are in La Palma, 125 in Fuerteventura, 81 are in Lanzarote, 20 are in El Hierro, and 9 are in La Gomera.

After they confirmed that 992 people were discharged and 9 people died, there are 102,525 active cases in the archipelago with 626 in hospital wards and 88 in ICU,

They have also informed that they have received 1,973 positive self-diagnosis test notifications via the new website www.miautotestcovid.com since it went live a few days ago. Of these 1,828 people have been activated for sick leave and automatic baja, and the rest are in follow-up.

The purpose of this website is to facilitate the communication of positive results of an antigen self-test to the SCS and accelerate obtaining sick leave for Covid-19

The SCS remind people that although tomorrow (Wednesday), is a holiday in Tenerife, you can still get vaccinated against Covid without an appointment:
If you are over 18 years old you can receive your booster dose from 8.30am to 8pm, and children aged 5 to 11 years old can get their first dose between 8.30am to 3pm.
