Covid update: Active cases and hospital occupancy drop again in the Canaries

The latest data from the Ministry of Health, reports 1,228 new cases today with 1,730 people discharged and eight deaths meaning a drop in active cases of 510 to 17,348. Of these 478 Covid patients are in wards, 62 are in ICU, and 16,808 are in home isolation as numbers continue to drop.

In the last 24 hours, the deaths of eight people have been reported, three in Tenerife, another three in Gran Canaria, one in Fuerteventura, and one in El Hierro, all aged between 63 and 94 years old with previous pathologies and already hospitalized.

This data, following the adjustment of active cases by the Ministry of Health on Monday, will be reviewed tomorrow by the Governing Council, when some levels drops or further relaxed restrictions are expected after last week's change in capacities and closing times.
