Cloudy skies and occasional showers expected across the Canary Islands this Wednesday
The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has forecast a mostly cloudy day with occasional light rain across parts of the Canary Islands today, Wednesday, particularly over the more mountainous islands.
Temperatures will remain largely unchanged, and winds will be light with a predominance of sea breezes.
A gentle north-westerly swell is expected to bring waves between one and two metres, with variable winds (force 1–3) creating calm to slightly choppy sea conditions.
While Wednesday’s weather is expected to be generally mild, AEMET warns that a low-pressure system could bring heavier rain and thunderstorms to the archipelago later in the week.
Here is today’s forecast for each of the islands:
LANZAROTE:
High cloud cover with some low clouds in the morning. Light winds with sea breezes. Temperatures steady.
Expected temperature range: 18°C minimum and 26°C maximum.
FUERTEVENTURA:
Mainly high clouds with some morning low cloud intervals. Light winds and stable temperatures.
Expected temperature range: 18°C minimum and 25°C maximum.
GRAN CANARIA:
Mostly high cloud throughout the day with some cloud development inland and a small chance of isolated showers. Light winds and little temperature variation.
Expected temperature range: 21°C minimum and 25°C maximum
TENERIFE:
Generally cloudy with high clouds and possible light showers, particularly on the southeast slopes during the central hours of the day. Light winds with sea breezes at lower altitudes, and moderate south-westerly winds turning westerly in the highlands later in the day.

The overall outlook for the Canary Islands remains mild and stable, though residents and visitors are advised to keep an eye on forecasts as unsettled weather is expected to arrive in the coming days.
