Environmental group Canary Green successfully organised a large community beach clean-up at Playa Los Enojados in Las Galletas, south Tenerife, on Saturday 30th May to mark Canary Islands Day (Dia de Canarias).
The initiative brought together local residents and volunteers with the shared goal of protecting the coastline and raising awareness about marine pollution across the islands.
Despite the high temperatures, more than 50 volunteers took part in the event, showing strong community spirit and a determination to make a positive environmental impact.
During the clean-up, participants collected rubbish from the beach and surrounding areas, removing more than 500kg of waste from the natural environment.
Organisers highlighted that beach clean-ups are a simple but powerful way to protect marine ecosystems, encourage sustainable habits and strengthen community involvement in environmental action.
