CICAR awarded prestigious FIJET prize for best Rent a Car company in Spain

In a momentous occasion at FITUR, the International Tourism Fair, CICAR has been honoured with the prestigious FIJET Award for the Best Transportation Company operating in Spain in 2024. The accolade, presented by the Spanish Federation of Tourism Journalists, a part of the World Federation of Journalists and Writers in Tourism, was handed over during the event in Madrid.

Miguel Ángel Gonsáles Suáres, President of the Spanish Federation of Tourism Journalists, presented the award to Mamerto Cabrera Cabrera, the CEO of CICAR. The FIJET Awards aim to recognise and celebrate entities, organisations, projects, and destinations in the tourism sector, applauding excellence in management and the promotion of tourism.

Expressing gratitude for the award, Cabrera reflected on the values that guide their daily operations. "To remain competitive, the principles established by our father in 1967, when he ventured into the car rental industry with just five vehicles, continue to be the same – kindness and good service, customer safety and satisfaction, simplicity, and a spirit of continuous improvement."

The CICAR family was joined at the ceremony by the presidents of the Cabildos of Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, and El Hierro, as well as several mayors. All attendees praised "the exemplary trajectory and the firm commitment of the company to the entire Canary Islands." The event's substantial attendance and genuine applause were a demonstration of the affection bestowed upon CICAR by those present.
