Blue sunny skies and rising temperatures are back in the Canary Islands

The winter sun is back across the Canary Islands as blue skies and sunny spells are on the forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), which is in stark contrast to the weather being experienced at home in the UK where snow is disrupting flights with some airports closed and planes grounded due to ice.

Temperatures are on the rise again, after the end of the storm and rain last weekend, with highs touching 30°C in parts of the archipelago, with light to moderate winds from the south to southwest.

Bathers are warned that sea conditions are still dangerous, with strong under currents and a swell of between 2 to 3 metres. Swimming is only advised in sheltered areas where flags or lifeguards permit, and definitely not in areas where there are no flags or red flags.
