Arrested for leaving their 6-month-old baby alone in a hotel room to go out to dinner

The National Police have arrested the parents of a six-month-old baby boy, after they left him alone in their hotel room while they left the premises and went out to dinner, claiming it was ok because they took a baby monitor with them.

Staff at the H10 Croma hotel called the police after another guest told them that they thought the infant had been left by himself, and officers immediately came and found the young boy alone in their room, fortunately, unharmed and asleep.

The parents, of Dutch nationality, were tracked down to a restaurant in the centre of Malaga, have been arrested and charged with the crime of abandoning minors.

However, they claim that everything was ok as they had left a device to monitor their son, and were nearby in case he needed them.
