37 degrees and haze will start the week in the Canary Islands

The latest forecasts from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) are for temperatures of up to 37°C in the south of Gran Canaria and Tenerife, haze that will affect all of the islands, and weather warnings for ‘coastal phenomena’ causing dangerous sea conditions in the western islands.

The weather warnings for heat are still active in Gran Canaria with a red alert from the Ministry of Health in various municipalities in the centre and the south of the island, and come into force this morning in Tenerife and Fuerteventura.

Today’s weather forecast for each island:
TENERIFE (Adeje weather stations):
General: Hot and sunny with light winds from the sea, and light haze at altitude.
Humidity: 47%
Precipitation: 1% - No rain forecast.
Wind: Light, 18km/h from the southeast.
Temperatures: Maximum 37°C and minimum 23°C.

GRAN CANARIA (Mogan weather station):
General: Mostly sunny with some light clouds and haze.
Humidity: 67%
Precipitation: 1% - No rain forecast.
Wind: Strong, 34km/h from the northeast
Temperatures: Maximum 37°C and minimum 21°C.

LANZAROTE (Arrecife weather station):
General: A cloudy start but clearing by mid-morning for a hot day with haze at altitude.
Humidity: 84%
Precipitation: 2% - No rain forecast.
Wind: Strong, 39km/h from the north.
Temperatures: Maximum 32°C and minimum 22°C.

FUERTEVENTURA (Puerto Rosario weather station):
General: Clear and sunny with haze. Temperatures will be highest on the southeastern slope.
Humidity: 74%
Precipitation: 2% - No rain forecast.
Wind: Strong, 34km/h from the northeast.
Temperatures: Maximum 34°C and minimum 22°C.
