10 people arrested for sending cocaine to the Canary Islands by post

The Guardia Civil have arrested ten people in Barcelona who have been charged with drug trafficking, belonging to a criminal organization, and money laundering, after they caught them cutting and packaging cocaine, then sending it by post to the Canary Islands.

The gang was uncovered during a joint operation between the Guardia Civil, the Mossos d'Esquadra in Barcelona, and the Tax Agency after cocaine was detected in several packages sent by mail from Barcelona to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

According to the Guardia Civil in an official press release, more than 200 grams of cocaine was found hidden inside packages, which led to the search of two houses in Gran Canaria and the arrest of three people who had received these packages.

Following this, searches were carried out in three rented tourist apartments and two storerooms in Barcelona, where police seized 6,265 euros in cash, liquid ecstasy, bottles of poppers, methamphetamine, MDMA pills, doses of LCS, powdered ecstasy, ketamine, hashish, heroin, marijuana, pink cocaine, and packets of pills of Sidenafil, Diazepam, and Rigotril in various amounts.

The Mossos d'Esquadra have confirmed that the gang installed mobile laboratories in tourist apartments rented online to prepare the drugs, and distributed the substances by post in parcels to different locations in Spain and the Canary Islands.
