The Principado Hotel in Maspalomas to be demolished and rebuilt as a new 5-star resort

The three-star apart-hotel Principado, nestled in Maspalomas in Gran Canaria, is set to undergo demolition to pave the way for a new five-star hotel. This transformation will be made possible through a minor modification to the General Urban Development Plan of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, with its final approval scheduled to be confirmed in the plenary session tomorrow (Thursday).

The project involves increasing the finished height of the building, located in the tourist hub of Playa del Inglés, by adding four extra floors meaning it will have 12 as opposed to the current 8.

However, when complete it will still have the same number of rooms (373) but they will be bigger with moth more facilities and services enabling it to elevate its category by meeting requirements to be a 5-star resort.
