The Cabildo makes it easier to access free public transport in Tenerife

The Governing Council of the Tenerife Cabildo has approved a series of measures that make the conditions for accessing free public transport on the island more flexible, including the provision for non-residents to benefit too.

As well as the established limit of 10 trips per month, a second option has been introduced for those users who do not use public transport as often.

Now, people will be able to access free travel if they make a minimum of 30 trips in the last quarter (90 days), regardless of how these trips are distributed during the quarter.

“This will be verified directly through the travel record of the Central Ticketing Management System,” explained Rosa Dávila and Lope Alonso at a press conference.

In addition, the Governing Council has approved a modification of the conditions so that foreign citizens who do not yet have their residency card will be able to access the subscriptions by presenting their passports and proof of registration on the island, as is the case in the rest of the archipelago.
