Plane has to make emergency landing in Gran Canaria with engine problem

A plane arriving from Madrid had to make an emergency landing at Las Palmas airport in Gran Canaria airport yesterday afternoon, which led to flight delays after emergency protocols were activated in case of a crash.

According to the Air Traffic Controllers who reported the incident on Twitter, the flight arriving from Madrid to Gran Canaria took priority over other planes to make an emergency landing due to a technical problem in one of the engines.

After carrying out all checks possible on board, it made an approach from the north of the airport while the rest of the planes coming to land waited to the east, and departures from the airport were stopped.

Fortunately, a few minutes later, a successful landing was confirmed without any complications or incident on board, and after the plane had cleared the runway, they declared the emergency over.

At this point, all other landings and take-offs resumed with the airlines trying to minimise delays, and the controllers tweeting: “The emergency is over, we are operating as normal again.”
