Since TITSA made schedule changes to bus routes in the south of Tenerife angry passengers have been expressing their views and feelings online as they claim the service has become worse and slower. Line 452, covering the route between La Caleta de Adeje and El Risco (Granadilla) is an example of this and has been causing issues for weeks.
The Tenerife bus company insists that there have been no more changes to the service in the past month. However, passengers argue that continuous delays, particularly during peak hours due to increased passenger numbers and heavy traffic in the area, have become a regular occurrence.
Daily commuters taking the bus from San Isidro to Adeje describe the morning journey as "completely full" but punctual. The problems, which started almost a month ago, arise when they attempt the return trip.
"Delays have been occurring for weeks, at least three times a week. At the Fañabé station, we discovered that lines 452, 111, and 450 do not provide a reliable service, despite screens indicating they are covering the route," they said.
Passengers claim to have contacted the company for an answer, but their issues remain unresolved. "We were told the lines were delayed, but they never arrived. This has been happening all week. The response we received is that they have no information about it since their system shows regular coverage of the route, which is not the case," they said online.
According to TITSA sources, line 452 experiences high occupancy due to the significant number of residents travelling to Adeje and needing transport back home. "The vehicles have seats for both standing and sitting passengers, and that is not a problem. We experience significant increases in passenger numbers, leading to full buses," they claim.
Regarding delays and the possible suspension of line 452, TITSA asserts, "It's true that delays may occur due to traffic problems, especially during peak hours after 2pm. However, in no case has the line, nor lines 111 and 450, been suspended."
Line 452 covers the route between La Caleta and El Risco, with the first bus departing from El Risco at 5:50am and the last departure at 8:00pm. From La Caleta, the service starts at 7:50am, and concludes at 11:30pm. During its 22-stop journey, the service passes through locations such as Granadilla de Abona, San Isidro, the airport junction, Parque la Reina, the Adeje bus station, Fañabé Plaza, Bahía del Duque, La Enramada, and La Caleta.
