The National Police have arrested a 39-year-old Italian man in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, who has a European arrest warrant against him for extradition back to his country for drug trafficking.
Recently, investigators became aware that an Italian citizen described as one of ‘Italy’s Most Wanted’ may have been living in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, prompting them to locate him and subsequently arrest him.
Following his arrest and formal identification, the facts were brought to the attention of Central Court number 4 of the National Court (Audiencia Nacional), and its judge ordered him to be placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court number 6 of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, which has ordered his deportation back to Italy where he will face trial.
