A 41-year-old motorcyclist lost his life yesterday (Sunday) following a collision with a car on Avenida Isora in the municipality of Guía de Isora, in the south of Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The accident happened at 9:45am, which is when the 1-1-2 operations centre received an alert about a collision between a motorcycle and a car, requesting urgent medical assistance.
They immediately dispatched the necessary emergency resources to the location given, including a SUC ambulance, paramedics, the Local Police, Guardia Civil, and the Insular Road Maintenance Service.
Paramedics attended to the motorcyclist, who suffered a severe chest injury and was taken to Hospiten Sur by ambulance for emergency treatment. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The 19-year-old driver of the car, who sustained a wrist injury, was taken to the Hospital del Sur for further treatment.
The Guardia Civil took charge of the crash site and controlled traffic flow to prevent congestion, and the road was cleared by the Maintenance Services.
The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision to determine its cause.
