Agents from the Minors and Family Group of the Canarian Police, have arrested a man in Adeje, in the south of Tenerife, on charges of potentially abducting his own daughter from a Child Protection Centre she has been staying at.
The young girl had been reported missing from the facility that was looking after her, which was designated by the Directorate General for the Protection of Children and Families, last year for her own safety.
Following various investigative measures to locate both the father and his daughter, as the accused had no known address, the Canarian Police successfully tracked him down in the municipality of Adeje and detained him.
The Adeje Local Police collaborated in the operation, transporting the girl to the Police station, where she was handed back to her guardians. Legal proceedings were opened, with relevant reports sent to the courts of Arona and the Minor's Prosecutor.
The detainee is in custody at the Guardia Civil station in Playa San Juan waiting to appear before the judicial authority, accused of taking her from the centre without permission
