A man with a lengthy criminal record has been arrested, accused of robbing the same store in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, three times in less than 11 days.
The arrest follows an investigation launched by police after receiving multiple complaints from employees of a business in the neighbourhood of Tarajales.
According to a statement from the Canary Islands' Superior Police Headquarters, the suspect repeatedly entered the store armed with a knife, threatening staff and demanding the contents of the cash register.
In two of the incidents, he successfully stole a total of €350. However, during the third attempt, he failed to get any cash and instead resorted to stealing merchandise from the store.
The suspect has now been charged with armed robbery, and a local judge has ordered his immediate imprisonment.
