Get Ready! Cirque du Soleil's dazzling new show 'Bazzar' premieres in the Canaries

Cirque du Soleil have completed their final dress rehearsal for its highly anticipated new show Bazzar, and opens the doors of its big top to the public for the very first time at 4:30pm today (Sunday) near ExpoMeloneras in Maspalomas kicking off what promises to be an unforgettable spectacle!

After months of preparation in Gran Canaria, Bazzar is set to bring the best of Cirque du Soleil back to its roots, putting the spotlight squarely on its incredible performers.

The vibrant cast of 82 people from 28 different nationalities, including 35 artists, 4 musicians, and 6 dancers, will wow audiences with breathtaking acrobatics, live music, and stunning costumes, making it an event you won't want to miss.

While the official European premiere is scheduled for this Thursday (October 3rd), eager fans can catch sneak peek performances today at 4:30pm and again on Wednesday at 8:30pm. These preview shows will serve as the perfect lead-up to the grand debut of Bazzar, a show that has already captivated audiences across Asia, America, and South America.

Expect nothing short of spectacular! Bazzar combines Cirque du Soleil’s signature blend of awe-inspiring acrobatics and artistry with a fresh twist. Featuring live music from a "phantom DJ" and a soul singer, the soundtrack includes a unique mix of universal pop and electronic folk, performed with an intriguing selection of instruments like the baritone saxophone, acoustic guitar, and melodic piano. The addition of a ukulele, flutes, and a simple banjo adds a playful street vibe to the performance.

But that’s not all! This colourful cast is led by their charismatic Maestro, who guides the audience through a world of creative chaos, where the unexpected becomes reality. From jaw-dropping acrobatic stunts and superhuman skaters to the floating woman and hilarious clown acts, Bazzar promises a visual and emotional experience like no other.

But this is just the beginning of a long-running residency in Gran Canaria, as the island will host Bazzar until 6th January 2025, giving fans multiple opportunities to witness the magic under the big top.
