Four seriously injured, including a 5-year-old, by a reckless driver in Gran Canaria

Four people, including a 5-year-old child, have been injured after two cars, one of which was travelling in the wrong direction, had a head-on collision on the GC-3 dual carriageway in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).

The incident occurred last night (Sunday) at kilometre point 6, where the GC-3 passes through Almatriche. Firefighters from Las Palmas were dispatched to the scene, where they extracted one of the injured from inside her vehicle because she was trapped after the accident.

Meanwhile, SUC medical personnel attended to another woman who had suffered from multiple contusions and a severe leg injury and was transported to the Doctor Negrín University Hospital by ambulance.

They also attended to a man with various serious traumas, who was rushed to the University Hospital Insular of Gran Canaria by ambulance for urgent treatment, and a five-year-old child with multiple contusions and a moderate thoracic trauma, who was taken to the University Maternal and Child Hospital in Las Palmas for further treatment.

Finally, medics attended to a 54-year-old woman with several moderately severe traumas, who was also taken by ambulance to the Doctor Negrín University Hospital.

Agents from the Local Police also dispatched to the scene of the accident, who collaborated with the Guardia Civil, who were in charge of preparing the corresponding accident reports and determining the cause of the accident.
