A flight en route to Tenerife South was forced to return to Gran Canaria Airport yesterday, Tuesday, following an issue involving the aircraft’s landing gear, according to a statement released by Air Traffic Controllers via their official account on X.
The crew reported the incident mid-flight and requested to return to their departure airport. Air traffic control granted permission for a direct approach to runway 03R, where they landed safely without any incident.
After landing, the plane was able to vacate the runway normally, following standard emergency procedures. There were no injuries or damage reported as a result of the incident.
Thanks to effective coordination between the flight crew and air traffic services, the emergency manoeuvre was carried out smoothly and without further incident. No details have been disclosed regarding the airline or the aircraft model involved at this stage.
