At 9:30 this morning, the scheduled time of the eviction of the 210 people living in the building known as Chasna, in Costa del Silencio, the streets filled with Guardia Civil cars containing the officers tasked with carrying out the process.

Twenty officers guarded the building, while those affected gradually left their homes with their personal belongings, while people watched on stunned by what was happening.

Some of the evictees shouted desperately to the agents for help to stop the eviction from taking place, as well as at the people who were recording them with their mobile phones.

Outside, small groups of people sat next to their belongings consisting of mattresses, furniture, and suitcases, some in wheelchairs and others with pushchairs in tow with nowhere to go.
