Transavia flight HV6365 from Eindhoven to Gran Canaria, had to make an emergency landing yesterday (Saturday), after the crew reported a possible fire in the aircraft’s hold.
According to information shared on the Air Traffic Controllers Twitter account (X), once the emergency alert was received, the control tower diverted the aircraft from the traffic ahead on approach and gave it priority to land with the emergency services on standby.
After landing safely on runway 03L, it remained on the runway under the supervision of the airport fire crew and all passengers were evacuated from the plane. However, after a thorough check of the aircraft they were happy to report a false alarm.
It is believed that a fault with a warning light led to the potentially disastrous alert.
