In a relieving conclusion to a tense situation, an 86-year-old woman who had gone missing in Gran Canaria has been found in good health. The woman, who suffers from Alzheimer’s and requires medication, disappeared early this morning (Friday) in the municipality of Teror, Gran Canaria.
The alert was raised by the woman's carer, who noticed she was missing from her home at around 7:45 this morning. The family of the missing woman was not on the island at the time, and the carer also discovered that the gate to the property was open, prompting immediate concern.
The Guardia Civil immediately coordinated with the Local Police of Teror and Civil Protection units to launch a search operation. Fortunately, within just an hour of the alert, the woman was found unharmed near the Los Llanos area of Teror.
Thanks to the quick action of the authorities, the situation was resolved swiftly, bringing relief to her family and those involved in the search.
