Dead body of a man found in a ravine by a beach in Mogán

The Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) have released a report after the dead body of a man was found in a ravine by the upper part of the Los Frailes beach, known as the dry river bed, on Friday evening.

CECOES have confirmed that they received a call at 8:05pm alerting to the presence of the body of a man in the ravine in the tourist resort of Mogan.

Given the difficulties in accessing the place where the body was found, the fire brigade, based in the Arinaga park, were activated to help the police access the ravine.

They collaborated with the judicial and forensic police to illuminate the area and allow access to retrieve the body. A fire truck with an extending arm had to be used to recover it and allow the coroner to go down to the area to carry out an inspection of the body.

An investigation is already underway to formally identify the man and ascertain the cause of death, although there are no signs of foul play at this stage.
