Two people were seriously injured earlier today (Wednesday), when a bus crashed into the San Telmo bus station in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria as it was leaving en route to Arucas, according to the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
For reasons that are currently unknown, the driver lost control of the vehicle and it crashed into a wall at the bus station.
One of the people injured was a passenger on the bus who was trapped inside and had to be freed by the fire brigade, and the other was knocked over by the bus and is being treated by medical teams.
Several bays and stops at the bus station near the scene of the accident have been cordoned off and closed to secure the area and to make it easier for response teams dealing with the situation.
