Lee Irving, a British resident living in the south of Tenerife battling cancer, has reported a burglary on Wednesday afternoon at his home in Costa del Silencio, while he was resting after taking his medication.
According to his account of the incident, shared with Diario de Avisos, the break-in happened at approximately 3:30pm after he had gone to bed after taking his medication at around 2:00pm.
"I went upstairs to rest, and they broke the lock to get into my house while I was there," he recounted, visibly shaken. The intruders made off with several items, including a television, a laptop, and his wallet.
Security Cameras Captured the Incident
Fortunately, security cameras installed at Lee's home captured footage of the crime. The victim has since shared this evidence with the Guardia Civil and is seeking the public’s help to identify the perpetrators.
"I have everything on tape. This has deeply disturbed me, and I am very frightened. I've never been so scared in my life," he said, describing the emotional toll of the incident.
Local authorities are now investigating the case, and he hopes the footage will lead to the identification and apprehension of those responsible. Meanwhile, the community has expressed support for the victim, whose health condition makes the crime particularly distressing.
