A man drowns in the natural pools of Los Charcones de Arucas

A 68-year-old man died this morning (Monday) after drowning in the natural pools of Los Charcones in the municipality of Arucas in Gran Canaria, as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).

They received a call just after 8:30am this morning informing them that a man was face down, unconscious, floating in the water.

When SUC Medical Personnel arrived at the scene, the man had been pulled from the water and a member of the public was trying to revive him by giving him CPR.

Paramedics took over with advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques, but unfortunately, they couldn’t save him and were only able to confirm his death.

The Guard Civil took charge of the corresponding proceedings and guarded the body until its removal was authorised for official identification and autopsy to determine the cause of death.
