The National Police have reported that a man in Gran Canaria attacked his partner on Friday night before taking his own life, at their home on Calle Secretary Artiles in Las Palmas.
The incident occurred after midnight on Friday night, at some point between 12am and 1am, and police rushed to the scene after receiving an urgent call for help from the injured woman.
When officers arrived at the house, they found the woman by herself who explained that after attacking her, the man fled from the house and she didn’t know where he was.
After calling for an ambulance to attend to the injured woman, the police activated a search for the man who was found dead just hours later in Las Palmas, after allegedly taking his own life.
No further details have been released at this stage, except that the National Police have opened an investigation into both circumstances of the attack on the woman, and how the man died.
