A cooler start to the week with some rain showers today in the Canary Islands

After a warm weekend, temperatures are expected to drop in the Canary Islands today (Monday), as the winds persist with some strong gusts and cloudy skies are expected except to the northeast and south of the islands, where light showers are not ruled out, according to AEMET.

Maximum temperatures of 23 degrees in Tenerife and 20 in Gran Canaria are forecast, with a minimum of 16 in both capitals. Winds are expected from the northeast with occasional strong intervals in various areas, but particularly at altitude.

Likewise, winds from the northeast are expected in the waters of the archipelago, where their force will range between 3 and 5 producing a general swell with areas of strong swell in the north and northwest of 1 to 2 metres.
