Five municipalities in Tenerife have had no Covid cases in the last week

In the first week of February, Tenerife registered a total of 262 new positives for coronavirus. Of these, the majority were registered in Santa Cruz (67), followed by Arona (42), Granadilla de Abona (28) and La Laguna (25), although these numbers are far from the worrying figures for the months of November and December.

February has started with good data, continuing with the downward trend of contagion and leaving the incidence rates at the levels of late summer last year. Proof of this is also in the number of municipalities that have spent the last week without registering any new cases.

As of now, five municipalities in Tenerife didn’t have a single contagion in the first week of February, leaving their cumulative incidence rate over seven days (IA7) at zero. These municipalities are Arico, Fasnia, Garachico, La Guancha and La Matanza.

In this sense, Garachico stands out as they have had no cases for more than two weeks and is the only municipality in Tenerife with a cumulative incidence rate of zero over 14 days (IA14).

The fact that the first week of February has been one of the best in recent months of the pandemic, is also reflected by the low levels of accumulated incidence. No municipality has data since February 1st that places it at medium risk and the incidence rate hasn’t reached worrying levels at all.

In fact, the municipality with the highest incidence in seven days is Santa Úrsula, with 61.31 but that is with only nine cases in the last week. Vilaflor follows, with 59.99 and only one positive. Behind are Granadilla (55.84 and 28 cases) and Arafo (54.04 with 3 new cases).
