A 31-year-old man, who already has a criminal record, has been arrested by the National Police for allegedly committing a series of vehicle break-ins and thefts in Fuerteventura.
The police launched an investigation after receiving ten separate complaints (denuncias) reporting damage and theft to multiple vehicles on the 13th and 14th of January in Puerto del Rosario.
According to the police report released today, the suspect allegedly smashed car windows to gain access, stealing various items from inside some of the vehicles. Additionally, he damaged three other vehicles, though no thefts from these were reported.
Shortly after the incidents, officers successfully identified, located, and apprehended the suspect. Following standard procedures, he was taken into custody and later presented before the competent judicial authority.
The National Police continue to urge residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to help prevent more vehicle-related crimes in the area.
