A mysterious TikTok user known as Lagarto Millonario (“The Millionaire Lizard”) has gone viral for hiding money in public places around the south of Tenerife with a copy of their profile picture, and social media users are hooked.
In a series of short clips posted to the platform, a pair of anonymous hands can be seen stashing €5 notes around areas such as Las Galletas, El Fraile, Guaza, and San Isidro. Each video ends with the teaser: “¿Quién lo encontrará?” – “Who will find it?”
The videos have quickly gained thousands of views and a flood of comments, with users praising the unusual act of generosity and others eager to join the hunt. Some are even planning visits to the locations featured, hoping to get lucky and find the hidden notes.
Those who find the cash are encouraged to comment “lo encontré” (“I found it”) on the original video.
