A man has been seriously injured following a fire that broke out last night (Thursday) at an industrial facility in the San Isidro Industrial Estate, located in the municipality of El Rosario, Tenerife.
The Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) received the alert at 10:30pm and immediately activated the relevant emergency resources.
The injured man was initially treated by SUC medical personnel at the scene, who reported that he was suffering from serious smoke inhalation. Subsequently he was transported by ambulance to the Hospital Universitario de Canarias for further medical care.
Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze and successfully prevented it from spreading to nearby industrial units. The Local Police and Guardia Civil were also deployed to the site, where they assisted emergency personnel and opened an investigation into the start of the fire.
This incident follows a series of recent fire-related emergencies on the island, including a separate blaze in El Sobradillo earlier this week that forced the evacuation of several homes and left multiple people with burn injuries.
